Default Here we go Pedro - Turn back the clock buddy

Pedro without his fastball, still has the mind/guile of Maddux. Can't wait for game 6.

Girardi has mis-managed this series enough that the Phillies have a decent (not great but legit) shot at a monumental comeback.

He blew up Burnett on short rest, is going with an old Pettite on short rest, and if there is a game 7 is going to make CC pitch on 3 days rest for the second straight time.

He really has made questionable decisions, Burnett wasn't doing that hot to begin with, and then he decides to pitch him on three days rest, crazy!

The key is Sabathia.
Sabathia maybe was okay to pitch on 3 days rest once... but to do it twice in a row is big trouble.

Pettite is on fumes too.

Girardi should have just rolled out Gaudin for game 5 and gotten Burnett and Pettite back at full strength.

All I am hoping for is that the series is extended to game seven. Then it's 50-50 who wants it more.

Even if he pitches Gaudin in Game 5, do you think Burnett was going to pitch any different with another days rest? Burnett has a sub 2 ERA on 3 days rest in his career. Burnett has been feast, or famine, all season long. He's either on his game, or off. There is very little in between with him. For the sake of argument though, lets assume he does what some say, which isn't illogical mind you, and opts for regular rest for Burnett in Game 6. If Burnett loses that game, which we'd all agree is possible, then where does that leave the Yankees? A rested Pettitte in Game 7, or a short rest CC right? Who are you going to start in such a scenario? CC for sure. So in the end, you end up where you would to begin with, and that's with CC in a Game 7, on short rest, if necessary. So your choice is Gaudin, Burnett, and CC on short rest, or Burnett, Pettitte, and CC all on short rest. BTW, Gaudin hasn't started since September I believe. You can go either way, but I think the latter is the better option of the two.

I'm not saying it's stupid to start Gaudin, cuz I think it's a valid option. I just don't think it's "mismanaging" at this point in the season, to go with Burnett, Pettitte, and CC as they have. There is no series after this one, so you go with your best I think.

Would love to see a Pedro gem tonight.

I have a feeling Pettitte doesn't last too long.

Yeah, he's had nothing from the start and that ahole Matsui is killing him.

Philly needs to start mashing or else its done.

I can't believe how they won all those games
... they look like a station to station team. No push - no pressure ... like how did they get this far?

I don't understand why the Phillies are standing there taking strikes on perfectly hittable balls in the zone. Before they know it, Rivera will be up and the world series will be over.
