My recommendation for the future is to require someone from the NICU or other neonatal job to do the sticking. They are much better at it than the nurses who don't do it for a living. They might get pissy but after seeing what you saw, her pain (lack of) is most important. Remember, make sure they are from the infant units. Trust me, huge difference in experience with children that small.

The nurses tried the first 3 times including doc. Then they sent in a specialized IV team. Lol. If after 3 tries they still don't get it, they'd have gone for her scalp. Thank God they got it.
