Hadn't realized until today that this is the last year of Buffalo WR Stevie Johnson's rookie contract, and he's holding a tough line in talks. Then I read this in Lombardi's column just now:
"
13. Just based on the way Bills receiver Stevie Johnson plays against Darrelle Revis of the Jets, expect an AFC East team to make a strong run at him this offseason. Johnson is looking for a big contract and should get a great deal. He is tough to handle.
"
Not sure if the "tough to handle" bit refers to as an opponent or as a teammate. He's had some questionable moments — big drop v Pitt last year, the Plax silliness this year — but he has the talent to be the missing piece of this offense. If he has the football acumen to get in sync with TFB.
Thoughts?

This guy is about as inconsistant a player as there is in the NFL today. I want no part of Stevie Johnson, especially for the amount of money it would take to sign him.
Makes bonehead "all about me" plays that lose teams games.
NOT a BB type player.
He's a Jet next year.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH
The moment he pantomimed Plaxico shooting himself he became my favorite non-Patriot AFC East player. That **** was funny as hell.
The comments about how he's all about himself not the team are pretty far off-base. I remember that big drop he had last year the guy seemed pretty gutted that he let his team down based on his twitter comments.
Funny -- I started this thread just as I was leaving work and, as I was driving home, thought ... "the board is going to KILL this." And no one's even mentioned the PO Welker factor. Or the "this offense doesn't need him" angle. Well, guy sounds like a perfect Jet. ...
