Default Pat Chung verses Delmas and Alphonso Smith

Two years ago the Patriots could have (sort of) taken either Patrick Chung or Delmas to fill a need at safety. At the time (based on the powerful scouting in my dime-store draft guide ) I thought Delmas was better. You all know how I feel about Chung now.

Alphonso Smith was another guy that looked really great in my dime store draft guide. Apparently Skippy and the Lions used the same guide. The Broncos traded their first round pick in 2010 in order to select him and then the Lions traded for him this year! Actually to be fair Smith was having a good season until be had the misfortune of playing a BB team.

well technically delmas was taken ahead of Chung....but i suppose would have been an option if we didn't keep trading down that year.

Eugene Wilson was a safety, same as Patrick.
Eugene Chung was a Patriots, same as Patrick.

It all sort of fits together.

It's not over until we say it's over! Who's with me?

I don't know how old you are, but, take it from an older guy: You'll understand when you get older*.

Edit: As I hit the "send" button I realized you might not know who Eugene Chung is. High pick for Pats in '92.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Chung

Quote:
When the New England Patriots drafted him 13th overall out of Virginia Tech in the 1992 NFL Draft, Chung became the first Korean American player to be drafted in the first round of an NFL draft. He would go on to play three seasons with New England. Chung was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1995 NFL Expansion Draft. He played one season with the Jaguars and one with the Indianapolis Colts before retiring.
*See, when you get older, you call new guys by the names of old guys with similar names. Well, you'll see ... In 20 years there'll be a Fred Brady and you'll call him "Tom" for the first three years.

Who the hell is Gene chung?

We drafted Patrick Chung. Get it straight. One guy is an up and coming young safety. The other player was one of the biggest 1st round busts in Pats history.
