Before, and including, Cleveland, his tackle+assist (unofficial) average was 5.6; since then he's only had one game in which the number was over 2.0. I realize he missed a good part of the Indy game but his production has been down; very likely due to the ankle.

Are you happy with his play so far and was he worth it?
thanks
He was much more noticeable before the Browns injury. I think the injury has something to do with his decrease in snaps and documented decrease in production as seen in BelichickFan's post above.

"He is a definite upgrade over what we had previously."

This may be true, but its not saying he is worth it.
We need some younger LB's next year if we want to repeat and I hope BB gets us one or two in the off season.

He was outstanding in the first few games. The injury has definitely slowed him down a bit. Hopefully the bye week got him back to 100%.

I agree with some saying that he is learning the system (besides the ankle injury). His words are intriguing...

---quote------

"It was new and it was tough," said Thomas, who did not appear to be upset by his lack of action. "But you know it's always that way. All I do is go out there when I'm asked to go out there and you make plays when you're out there. That's kind of how it went today."

Asked if he was OK with his lack of playing time, Thomas said: "I'm not commenting on that. It is what it is. We won. It's bigger than that. We're moving forward to the next thing."

any tea leaves reading into this?

Also, it must be humbling for him to play on the punt and field goal block team, relatively to his status at Baltimore.

Patriots fans are watching what may well be the best team in the history of the NFL, yet almost all I see are threads about how disappointing players are. What the hell is wrong with you people?

Some poeple like to talk about things the team could improve. Maybe talk about players who are not playing well. Lemme guess you just want to hang out and gush about how great we are

As awesome as you think we are, there are many things that need to improve to remain the best team in the NFL.

Something to consider is that the Pat's defensive system doesn't generate stats other than points allowed and wins. Players like Richard Seymour absorb blockers and don't necessarily put up crazy numbers like Freeney for example.

It could be that AD is playing within the system and being very effective but it doesn;t show up in the box scores.

Your pathetic arguments have been destroyed time and again and you still spout nonsense every chance you get. There's not a player on this team who's not playing his role well enough for the team to be undefeated, as the record shows. It's one thing to wonder about an individual play, or even a specific game, but you people have been following this staff for years and still don't seem to grasp the concept of TEAM, or the idea of players with both multiple skills and individual areas of excellence, or the notion of playing hurt. And there is not a single thing that this team needs to improve on to remain the best team in the NFL. If this team stayed exactly at the level it is right now, it would destroy almost every opponent and set multiple records. This is, in fact, what's been happening to date this season.
