Wink Key Matchups for Sunday's game

Never mind! This has nothing to do with cameras or tapes or cheating or penalties or opinions from taking heads or writers.

But if you want to talk about your key match-ups for Sunday's game, go ahead. Maybe it will be our cameraman against their cameraman.

But, I'll say Big Vince against Hartwell, the pro bowl center.

Added to make this topical;

I think you mean Hardwick. Nick Hardwick. Very good center.

I think the key match-up will be Merriman on Light and Kaczur on Phillips. If they can keep those two off Brady for the 3-4 seconds he needs, Brady will light the Chargers up.

And that is what NEEDS to happen. The Pats NEED to light the Chargers up to show that this whole Camera thing was much ado about nothing.

Chargers are a great team and we'll have some tough match-ups.

Overall, we need the O-line to play flawlessly (kind of like the protection Peyton gets).
Tom needs to throw, throw, throw-TE's FB's , slants to Welker, bombs to Moss Etc Etc
5td's and 400 yds.
BUT we need to keep ou defense rested because I think we'll stop some 3rd down situations.
LT will get some yds but we will stuff the run and we'll get 2 td's out of the 5 I predict on INT's.....Rivers will suck!
We'll be in his grill all night!
Just hope Jarvis plays or at least Smith or Wright can rotate to cover him.

A win would be sweet but
domination would be a dream come true

I'll play your game. I didn't even know we HAD a game this Sunday ..

1. Stop LT. Pretty self explanatory. The offense seemed extraordinarily limited in week 1 witout LT running wild. Stop him, and make Rivers throw and we have a picturesque chance of winning. Get it?

2. Get pressure to Rivers with Wilfork, Warren, and Green. I almost feel like I am offending you with this type of analysis as that its pretty self explanatory. Rivers will be absolutely confused if we can get to him hard and early.

3. My personal favorite: completely and utterly destroy the Chargers morale. This can be accomplished in two ways, either of which I don't know which I would prefer: a) A long, methodical, hard-hitting, in-your-face, 7-10 minute drive where we expose the Chargers defense. This will happen if Maroney is on his game and my-man Morris looks as good as he did against the Jests; and b) First play deep throw to Moss / Stallworth for a huge gain / TD, with the TD obviously being ideal.

4. After that, completely crush the Chargers morale by continual scoring drives. Their defense can't stop our offense and we need to play smart, smash mouth football.

And just to had, I believe the team now has its "no-respect, chip-on-shoulder" attitude. Every media head is saying this Patriots team are cheaters. How pissed would you be? I believe that this is going to bring them closer together as a unit and they are going to PUNISH the Chargers.

Thoughts encouraged!

real basic, IMO. The Chargers' front 7 vs the Pats o-line/te/backs.

The pats should have quite an advantage if Brady can get some time to throw. The Pats' wr's should be able to get open down field vs the Chargers' secondary. When Brady threw his int's in the playoffs was when he faced pressure. They have to keep him upright.

I would assume the Chargers feel the same way about the Pats' front 7 vs their backs, line, and te. However, even if Rivers is protected, SD's wr's may find it a bit harder to get open against the Pats' secondary than vice versa.

My key matchup I want to see is Thomas on Gates-The Charger WRs do not scare me. Jackson is their best wideout, but I think Asante can contain him. Stopping Dallas Clark and other TEs who can run like wideouts is why we brought in AD, and AD will have a test with the best TE in football in my opinion.

As others have mentioned if the OL is solid we will score a lot of points. The issue when we are on D is the OLB's setting the edge and the front 7 having gap discipline to contain Tomlinson.

IMO this team will have a huge xhip on it's solder. We have heard the Chargers want payback for last year? Well the Pats on gonna take out thier frustration with the *****storm on the Chargers and especially L mr class Tomlinson for running his mouth this week.

Pats 38 Chargers 17
