Default Are the Patriots built around Brady?

I would say that the colts team is built around Payton Manning. That he is the most important piece in the puzzle. Would you say the same thing about Brady and the Patriots? I know brady is one of the most important players on the team. That is not what I am asking, is the team built around him. We also need to consider salary cap here. Is the pats salary money evenly split 50/50? I am not sure of this. I would presume the colts are weighted extremely weighted towards offense.

The offense is always going to get more salary money, I think, simply because the market for marquee offensive players drive up the cost of top QB/RB/WRs, though I suspect the Patriots play their defensive players quite a bit.

Of our eight top cap 2007 cap hits, six are on defense. Brady and Light are the offensive. I think that this is indeed the patriot philosoph. We pay for defense, for the best QB in football, and for his protector. Of course #9 and #10 are wide receivers.

nope. Our team is never built around 1 player simple as that. although we havent witnessed it..if 1 player goes down..our whole team doesnt collapse

If the offense was built arouind Brady, wouldn't he have had better WRs during his career?

The keystone of the Pats has been defense, and so the Pats could not be built around Brady.

This is not saying he isn't the best on the team. He is. But the team isn't built around him.

I think there are two many starters (25) on a football team to build it around one player. That is more easily done in the NBA.

That said, you can construct an offense around a player, a QB, WR, RB or even maybe a TE. Is that what you mean?

I think the question sounds nice but doesn't really ask anything.

Is the team built around Brady? Isn't every offense built around the QB? Brady just happens to be one of the best, so someone else casually stepping in for him seems less likely.

yep. I was trying to imply that the Patriots weren't built around Brady, where as some teams are built around one player. I think that any team built around one player will not be a great team for more than a few years. The system that the Patriots have is good because it does not hinge on anyone player. its not built to suit a paticular player so they can adapt to numerous different situations. Its an Idea not a person. Thats why I think BB and SP have the right system for long term sucess.

Would you say the Colts are built around Payton, I would. Im not so sure about the Chargers and LT though.

(Patriots minus Brady) >>> (Colts minus Manning).

It does ask something, but it is suppose highlight the Philosphy the Patriots have compared to other teams.
