Who cares if Poz and Harris are good players? BB/SP felt that the better value was to trade the #28 pick and get a pick next year. I don't know if that draft is going to be deeper or not, but I think that San Fran won't be going to the NFC championship game; who knows? maybe we'll be in a position to draft a Willis type player next year because of this trade.

I think the move was a good one, and we'll add even more quality players starting in round 3.

Terrible trade in my opinion, you have two #1's, you use them. Wilfork & Watson worked out, might as well try it again. I wish we had traded Deion for a #2, maybe we would have used it.

Tsk Tsk, Belichick is perfect. How dare you question him.

Just out of curiosity, did you scout any NFL players this past year for a profession football team?

(None of us did!)

Better he wastes the pick on another T. Banta-Cain so Draftnicks can be happy.

Why not? Were you expecting NO's to be there last year? They were picking #2 last year. SF was picking #11 this year.

It's the NFC -- anything can happen.

Say what you want, but the simple fact is other teams are more improved RIGHT NOW than NE. That is what matters for 2007. 2008 could be another story, but I'd rather focus on winning the 2007 SB than the 2008 SB.

The Pats basically traded Deion Branch last year for a #1 next year plus a #4 this year. Thats a two year gap in return. I think that is why some people don't understand this move. SF will probably win 10 games so I would bet on a #22-25 pick in 2008. They are as good next year as Seattle was last year. That is for sure.

I am not saying it was a bad move but does need to be investigated because (a) if deion branch was moved for a 2006 return player or signed, the Pats would have won the super bowl and (b) the Pats are the best team in the NFL next year I think and having a guy next year at this #28 pick could basically been icing on the cake and (c) a #28 this year provides more return to the 2008 team than a #20 in the 2008 draft.

Obviously, BB/SP didn't like the linebacker from Penn State or Joe Staley or the LB from Michigan and didn't want to spend a pick on any of them. If thats the case, I trust their judgement. The management of the Patriots will not waste a pick for the sake of making the pick. I trust them. Good move.

No. Better he "wastes" the pick on a likely higher - possibly MUCH higher - 1st round pick in 2008.

Bingo. A great decision. There's no need to pick just to pick.

That may just be one of the most ignorant statements I've read all day.

A close second.

Great. Even more short-sighted than before. Let's get a pick now instead of later, because that player will help us now. Let's neglect the future. Fantastic.

Finally some sense.

Damnit, I meant to give this a 5-star rating, not a 1-star rating.
