Default Anyone keeping tabs on the Chiefs?

Just curious about how Pioli, Cassel, Vrabel and Romeo + Charlie are doing/being received....

Well, anyway, their fans are seem to be already convinced that Pioli is the Matt Millen of their organization (no I'm not kidding). They have pretty much given up on Matt Cassel. Their think adding Weis + Crennel is due to Pioli's "nepotism." Really, it's only been a year and they think Pioli is the worst thing to ever happen to their organization. It's pretty much right on down the line too.

The denizens of Chiefs Planet were never keen on Cassel to begin with; when he was traded a lot of them were ready to commit seppuku.

That said, Pioli has made some rather questionable decisions in his first two years at the helm (e.g., Tyson Jackson in the first round).

My heart wants to see all of them do well... but as most who have left NE, I think they will struggle without BB.

I had to get off that message board, I started getting depressed for them.

Pioli does not get that instinctual feeling that Belichick has with players. Pioli likes film and stats ... Bill likes his gut instinct that old school coaches all have. I think we were lucky that they parted company and I felt this after last years draft as well. Pioli was lucky to get Eric Berry this year.

Uncle Charlie would be welcome here, in my book.

Biggest problem we have IMO, is who's going to run the offense. Sounds stupid, but why would Tom Brady look to O'Brien for guidance in this area?

Didnt the Chiefs lose something like 24 out of their last 28 games before Pioli was hired?
What did they expect with nothing to work with?

There's a group over there that will never forgive Pioli for not drafting Sanchez. That's really what most of the hostility is about. It's not as if there's a whole lot of deep thought going into the Pioli Hatred.

Sanchez not taken = everything's bad.

i don't mean to change this thread into one about the pats drafting over the years, but you have to admit from 2005-2008 our drafts have not been very stellar. The reason I think is that Pioli had more input in who we picked. the result - mediocre drafting. The chiefs fans will soon learn this the hard way unfortunately. I think BB had more of a say in whom we draft in the past 2 seasons, which have resulted in much stronger drafts.

Sanchez would have been Carr'ed on that team. Hell he threw 20+ Int's behind the Jets line, he might of pushed 40 behind the Chiefs line. Cassel if nothing else is safe with the ball and we all know he can take sacks!

He will be a good QB for them, but I think Sanchez would have gone the way of Carr and Couch, all kinds of talent but no line to protect them. Which led to them panicking and developing bad habits just to protect themselves.
