1) Underthrew Moss for a TD, causing him to have to slow up - sure TD failed.
2) Completely overthrew, hell not even in the same general area of a Moss for a sure TD.
3) Fails to realize Ben Watson is wide open in the endzone on 4th and Goal.
4) Overthrowing Welker resulting in a disgusting pick.
5) Completely overthrew, hell once again not even in the same general area a wide open Ben Watson in the end zone to end the game.

I've generally been fairly supportive of Cassel, and I hope he continues to start, but this loss is on his shoulders. He didn't play well in the Miami game, but he was functional and the D was primarily to blame for that loss.
This game, however, falls on his lap. He played very, very poorly. The Chargers knocked on the door throughout the whole first half but the game was within reach for most of it. He underthrew Randy Moss numerous times, took bad sacks, missed open recievers in the end zone, was too quick to scramble, and didn't get rid of the ball quickly enough. You can't play a ball control offense going three and out and throwing for fifty yards in a half against one of the worst pass defense teams in the league. This was a bad, bad day for him, by far his worst game since becoming a starter.
Yesterday I felt he was capable of taking the team to the playoffs, now I'm not so sure. Part of the reason the Chargers scored so often was because the patriots couldn't stay on the field. And that end zone debacle was an important moment, the coaches said we trust you, and he failed miserably. Threw at Morris' feet on one down and then missed a wide open Watson in the next down, when it didn't even look like he was under that much pressure.
Unless he bounces back in a big way next week, I think the Matt Cassel experiment is going to result in an 8-8 team (if we're lucky) and a mid round draft pick.

I hope it doesnt even get to that point with that kid. I'm glad for him that he has a degree, because I'm willing to bet that I have a better shot at playing in the nfl next season than he does.

Started off okay than it went to s***! He throws too many passes directly at the D-lineman for them to knock down. He needs to get more air under his throws.

Bad game by Cassel. His sub-mediocre performance is depressing although no shock, but it worries me far less than does the lack of pass rush (no hurries, no sacks), bad CB play, an OL that gets blown up right thru the middle, and other issues.
As casual fantasy football fans, you can focus on the backup QB, but the product on the field is the team, including coaches.

I wonder if when hes in the pocket, holding on to the ball waaaay more than 3 seconds and patting it, is he saying to the ball "good ball, nice ball, I love you ball."
Throw the friggin' thing already. You called a play to throw to a certain somebody, throw it.
