While many have wondered if the New New England Patriots might entertain a trade for what Jerod Mayo called ‘a bag’ to get them to move out of that spot, it sounds like it’s going to take a lot for that to happen.

One interesting bit of news on Monday was a report by Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, who reported that free agent safety Kyle Dugger is apparently unhappy with having been hit with the transition tag.

Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal has started beating the drum for New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to step down, with NBC Sports Boston helping to amplify that sentiment on Monday after having Bedard on to discuss that very topic.

One of the things that Eliot Wolf told reporters ahead of the Scouting Combine is that he’s a big proponent of keeping homegrown talent in the fold, and to far through free agency, that’s certainly held true.

Henry has been a reliable and productive red-zone target for the Patriots, scoring nine TDs in 2021 and six in 2023.

Yesterday was the deadline for teams to make a decision when it came to making certain designations for players, and New England ended up using the transition tag on free agent safety, Kyle Dugger.

While the New England Patriots are obviously trying to figure things out at the tackle position heading into free agency and the draft, it’s entirely possible they may actually already have at least one potential solution in-house.

Sitting with the number three overall pick has the Patriots in a position to select much of the top-end quarterback talent heading into April’s draft, but any thoughts of moving back could certainly have a massive ripple effect.

Tuesday night reportedly saw the Patriots meet with the first of several quarterback prospects, with NFL Analyst Ryan Fowler reporting that New England was among several teams who were set to meet with LSU quarterback Jalen Daniels last night.

“Matthew Slater deserves every accolade someone could receive. He added that Slater was the “best core special teams player in NFL history.”
