Here’s what Rhamondre Stevenson had to say following the Patriots’ win over the Texans in the Divisional Round on Sunday.

On if he can take us through his day, he had an eye issue, and how tough was that and then coming back in and then being part of the team that finished things off with that drive to just take time off the clock and get in victory formation eventually:

“Yeah, great team win to start off. I think we fought hard. O’line was working all day. That’s a good defense we’re going against. Got poked in the eye a little bit, but nothing serious at all.”

On how he would describe his emotions on advancing to the AFC Championship game:

“Very excited. I’ve been in the league for five years, haven’t been in this position, so I’m going to make the most of it, put my best foot forward, and hopefully get another win next week and on to the big game.”

On the opportunity to close out the game there at the end of the game there at the end with the ball in his hands and what did that mean, and how much did he get an overall performance from guys to have the success they had today:

“Yeah, it takes all 11 on the offensive side of the ball. And it feels good to end the game with the ball in my hands and just running behind my O’Linemen. That’s tough football in my eyes, just controlling the clock and running it when they know you’re going to run it. So great thing to get that done today. And a lot to clean up for sure, but great to get that done.”

On the fact they’ve had two playoff games, two wins and what have these two games taught him about what it takes to win in the playoffs:

“It’s going to take all of us. It’s going to be a fight every time. It’s great teams on the other side of the ball. We got to play our best football this time of the year and keep it going. Just limit mistakes, and we could win.

On the fact the fullback position has been a big part of Josh McDaniels offense here in the past and this season, we’ve seen Jack Westover primarily in that role, and what he can say about Jack’s development and what he’s done:

“Jack’s came a long way, and he’s doing a great job. Me, TreVeyon, D’Ernest, we love running behind him. And like you said, his development has been great this whole season. Started off at tight end kind of, but he made that move, and now we’re running behind him, and he’s doing a great job. I’m proud of him. Proud of where he’s at right now, and just proud of this team, and just got to keep it going.”

On the fact he talked about overcoming mistakes, and Drake [Maye] had to deal with a fair amount of strip-sacks here today, and what were the conversations like around him in the huddle and then on the sideline:

“Just ‘Next play,’ really. It wasn’t really a big deal to us. Like I say, when I come here all the time, it’s just, if it’s a bad play, ‘next play.’ If it’s a good play, ‘next play.’ So it wasn’t really anything to talk about. We know the type of guy he is. He knows he made a mistake or whatnot. So it wasn’t really anything like that. It was just ‘next play.’ He’s our quarterback, and we know he makes great plays. So just on to the next play.”
