The one bright spot coming off another loss on Sunday for the New England Patriots is that their draft stock at least went up a notch.

Following Sunday’s 34-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Patriots moved up to #4 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft order, which is where they ended up following their game against Miami, and they remained there later in the day after the Las Vegas Raiders fell to Denver on Sunday out in the desert.

New England came into Sunday’s game against Miami holding the #5 overall selection in next April’s draft, with the club having moved up one spot a week ago from #6 following their loss to the Rams, and then up to #5 following Cleveland’s upset over Pittsburgh.

The Patriots potentially have a winnable game this weekend, with the 5-7 Indianapolis Colts set to visit Foxboro.  That may potentially see them move down the board should they keep from losing three-straight games for the second time this season.

Still, Jerod Mayo’s football team has been a club that has allowed other franchises to “get right” against them, which it feels like could be the case again this weekend.

The Rams took care of the Patriots last week 28-22 before getting blown out against the Eagles 37-20 on Sunday night.  The Colts, meanwhile, head into Foxboro this weekend coming off a 24-6 blowout loss to the Lions at home yesterday.

With the goal of potentially taking a step toward getting back to .500, the Colts likely also believe this to be a beatable Patriots team.

After all, it’s hard not to be a little leery after what we saw Sunday.  If what played out in Miami continues, New England will likely have a difficult time again in front of what should definitely be a tough home crowd.

This week’s game is currently scheduled for 1:00pm ET on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
