It’s been a long season up front for the New England Patriots offense, and it looks like they’re not going to get any further reinforcements.

According to Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, offensive lineman Reilly Reiff isn’t going to be healthy enough to make his way onto the active roster this season.

Belichick said during his press conference on Wednesday that Reiff has suffered multiple setbacks, which will keep him from being able to contribute in 2023.

“He’s not going to be able to make it back,” said Belichick.  “He’s a player who has a lot of flexibility and there’s a lot to like about him.  Unfortunately, he’s had three setbacks here, so it’s just unfortunate.”

Reiff was placed on injured reserve to start the season, with the veteran suffering his first setback during the preseason finale back on August 25.

The veteran had recently become eligible to begin practicing with the team and today was the day to make the final determination.

It’s just too bad he wasn’t able to make his way back and he’ll revert back to injured reserve.  As a result, the Patriots will just have to go with who they currently have in front of whoever is under center over these final five games.
