Mac Jones Fined For Unsportsmanlike Conduct During Bills Game
David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports
The NFL already fined Bills safety Damar Hamlin $4806 after the hit that concussed Jakobi Meyers, but New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones ended up paying a larger penalty for far less.
The incident apparently happened following a fourth-quarter sack that occurred two plays following Hamlin’s hit on Meyers.
On the play, A.J. Epenesa beat Trent Brown around the edge and wrapped up Jones, and then flipped him backward and slammed him to the turf for a loss of 13-yards.

Jones, who likely wasn’t happy about how hard Epenesa slammed him down, got up and flipped the ball back in his direction as he walked away.
As a result, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jones was hit with a fine of $10,609 for it.
There was no verbal altercation and the incident was so subtle that it wasn’t even apparent in real time and no flag was thrown after it occurred. Yet, apparently, the league decided it was worthy of a penalty.
However, what’s more frustrating is that the fine Jones was hit with was more than double that of Hamlin’s, who caused a head injury that will cost Meyers the ability to play Monday night.
These two teams will next face each other in five weeks during the season finale in Buffalo.
