This week proved to be a busy one for New England Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft as he was honored with two individual awards for his charitable and humanitarian work.
Beginning Wednesday night, Kraft traveled to New York City to accept The Sports Business Journal 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award.
During his acceptance speech, Kraft emphasized the power to do good and the responsibility that comes with being in the sports industry.
“The most important thing that differentiates this industry is the platform it gives you to impact your community and champion for causes you are passionate about,” said Kraft.
“The visibility and popularity of sports is powerful, and that power can be used to do so much good on so many different levels. I’m very proud that in 1994, my first year of ownership of the Patriots, we were the first team in pro sports to include 10 mandatory community appearances a year on behalf of nonprofits into the contracts of each player we signed.”

Then on Thursday night, Kraft was again honored as he was named the 2022 recipient of the Ron Burton Humanitarian Award.
Named after the first-ever player drafted by the Patriots in 1960, the award commemorates Burton for his impact on the community following his football career.
In 1985, Burton established the Ron Burton Training Village in Hubbardston, Massachusetts to help young people achieve their goals.
