The New England Patriots elected to bolster their offensive line by taking Cole Strange with the 29th pick in the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft.
Following his selection, quarterback Mac Jones became one of the first players to welcome the rookie to Foxborough.
Taking to Instagram, Jones shared a story that said, “Congrats (Cole Strange) Let’s go to work #Trenches #HereWeGo”.

During his introductory press conference Friday, Strange revealed Jones had reached out to schedule dinner plans with the rookie tackle.
By taking Strange in the first round, he joins Logan Mankins (2005), Eugene Chung (1992), and John Hannah as the only guards taken that early in Patriots franchise history.
