As we move another day closer to the highly anticipated return of Tom Brady to New England, former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is still having mixed, awkward emotions heading into the game.

Edelman, who spoke with the media last weekend, shared the following thoughts on where he stands going into the battle between the two future Hall of Famers in Brady and Bill Belichick.

“It’s definitely going to be weird,” Edelman said. “It’s like going to a family barbecue or like a basketball event and you’re the step kid, or you’re like the kid who has divorced parents and your mom and dad are there and you don’t know how to react. Are they going to fight? Are they not going to fight? It’s going to be interesting. But, I am excited. Who is not excited for it? It’s going to be an exciting game.”

On Thursday, Edelman took things a step further to explain his awkward feelings by sharing a rather crafty social media meme that featured modified clips from the iconic “Dinner Party” episode of NBC’s “The Office”.

During Tuesday night’s “Inside The NFL Program”, Edelman dove into more detail about what he expects to see happen on the field.

“This is gonna be a barn burner here, this is gonna be a great matchup. They definitely want to win, both of ’em. They definitely want to beat each other,” Edelman said. “They know and understand the perspective of this game, and it’s a Week 4 game and the situations of the teams are completely different.”

So who does he think will win?

“Tampa Bay is going to win the game, I think. This is a different transition, they’re in different parts of their seasons and teams. This is a building team for the Patriots,” Edelman continued. “I think the Pats are gonna cover. It’s gonna be closer than what you think.”

So there you have it, we’re onto the “Goat Bowl” between Edelman’s divorced parents.
