The New England Patriots formally introduced 2021 first round draft pick Mac Jones in a press conference on the Gillette Stadium field Friday afternoon.
Standing alongside Robert and Jonathan Kraft on stage, Jones received his first jersey with the Patriots, a ceremonial number one.

After the jersey presentation, Jones answered a few questions from the media on a rather windy day in Foxborough.
Jones was asked what it means to be a Patriot and he continued to have high praise for the organization while looking forward to getting to know everyone.
“It feels absolutely amazing. I can’t thank the Kraft family enough and just to be a part of this is awesome. There is a lot of work that has to be done but you know to be on the 50-yard line here its just a great moment and I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates and talking to some of the coaches and just getting familiar with the area.”
As for his initial thoughts of Gillette Stadium Jones said “This place is awesome. Beautiful stadium.”
Jones later took note the heavy wind gusts (listen above for reference) and how he’ll have to get used to them, but stated they reminded him of when he’d travel down to the beach and throw (Jones is a native of Jacksonville FL).
When asked if any Patriots have reached out, Jones said a number of them have via social media but he didn’t specify who, only revealing there were “some people who played here in the past”.
A final notable question was for Jones to tell Patriots what they should know about him.
“I’m super competitive. I want to be a great teammate. I want to play my role to the best of my ability.”
