NFL RUMORS: A ‘Third of the League’ Has Reached Out to Seahawks About QB Wilson
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports
All the recent chatter this offseason about the uncertainty in Seattle with quarterback Russell Wilson appears to be gaining some steam.
While initial reports had seemed to indicate simply some frustration on the part of Wilson, it sounds like the Seahawks aren’t completely squashing the whispers. In fact, one report that recently came out is potentially letting teams know what it might take to get something done.
According to Michael Silver, the cost to acquire the 32-year old QB will start at “3 first-round picks” for a team looking to bring Wilson into the fold.
That’s obviously quite an asking price, but one thing that could get someone to pull the trigger is the fact anyone who is able to acquire Wilson would certainly end up with a pretty good return financially. He’s still under contract for three more seasons, with an average base salary of just $20-million through the 2023 season.
Needless to say, add Wilson’s name to the mix in what’s shaping up to potentially be a pretty crazy offseason.
