With two NFL quarterbacks already having been traded so far in 2021, it appears Eagles QB Carson Wentz may up next.

According to NBC Sports, Philadelphia is reportedly close to trading Wentz, with a variety of teams potentially in the mix.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer mentioned on Friday that New England could be among the teams looking into what the cost might be to acquire the 28-year old QB. Breer says the Patriots are “checking in on everything” as they continue trying to address their current quarterback void.

However, the cost may be high as the Eagles are reportedly seeking similar compensation to what the Lions received from the Matthew Stafford trade.

Indianapolis and Chicago are said to be other possible teams in the mix for Wentz, who also carries a staggering $34.7 million cap hit.

Wentz finished the 2020 season playing in just 12 games where he threw 15 interceptions and led Philadelphia to a 3-8-1 record while finishing with a 57.4% completion percentage.

The former first-round pick was selected #2 overall by the Eagles back in 2016.
