Week two of training camp provided a first look at the New England Patriots sporting their new uniforms on “photo day” as conditioning began to ramp up.
According to Bernd Buchmasser of PatsPulpit, the Patriots also entered “phase two” of camp this past Wednesday.
For the first time all offseason, all players and coaches were allowed to be on the same field together but workouts remained light with no pads.
On Friday morning, head coach Bill Belichick recapped week two before the team took the field for that days session.
“We’ve had endless Zoom meetings, then in-person meetings and walk-throughs since training camp started, some individual drills the last couple days, and then today will be the first opportunity we get to really have any full-speed or high-tempo team drills.”
“We’ll get through the weekend and then start padded practices on Monday, so that will be another phase in the ramp-up process,” Belichick later said. “But I feel like we’re taking those steps as we’re allowed to take them and the players are ready to move forward at the appropriate times. We’ll continue to do that, and as they say, take it as it comes.”
7 on 7 and 11 on 11 work took place with both the offense and defense on Sunday.
