Heartwarming stuff.
Dugger, the 37th overall pick out of Division 2 Lenoir–Rhyne University, put together a productive senior season despite a hand injury that limited him to seven games.
In 2019, Dugger earned second-team All-American and first-team All-South Atlantic honors. He also won the NCAA’s Cliff Harris Award, which is awarded to the nation’s small college defensive player of the year.
Over his collegiate career, Dugger logged 237 career tackles, 10 interceptions, 36 pass break ups, 6 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries and two blocked kicks to go along with his six punt return touchdowns.
Dugger was the only division two football player invited to the Senior Bowl.
