“They have completed the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.”
Three years ago today, New England Patriots radio play-by-play man Bob Socci uttered those words following the teams historic 25-point comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
After trailing 28-3 with just under five minutes to play in the third quarter, the Patriots went on an unprecedented 31-0 scoring run, clinching their fifth Lombardi trophy during the first overtime in Super Bowl history.
