On Tuesday, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick released a statement on the passing of Kobe Bryant.
ESPN’s Field Yates was the first to report Belichick’s comments via Twitter.

Belichick joins a growing list of current and former members of the Patriots organization to offer up their condolences and personal reflections about the basketball icon.
In May 2018, Bryant visited Patriots OTA’s in Foxborough, much to the delight of the players and coaching staff, the team of course, went on to win the Super Bowl that season.
“I have a ton of respect for Kobe. Obviously a great player, had a great career. Spent the day with him yesterday. He had a lot of great observations and things we could learn from. He’s a tremendous guy,” Belichick said at the time.
