The Patriots have held a special connection with the Naval Academy since Bill Belichick became head coach.
Belichick’s father Steve served in the Navy and later coached the football program for over 30 years.
Long snapper Joe Cardona is also a 2015 graduate of the Academy and had a special promotion ceremony before a practice this summer.
In 2019, the Navy Midshipmen football team finished the regular season with a 10-2 ranking and a 23rd overall national ranking.
Navy will look to finish with a bowl championship against the 8-4 Kansas State Wildcats on New Years Eve.
