ICYMI: Stephon Gilmore Fires Back At DeAndre Hopkins Following Twitter Chirp
Timothy T. Ludwig - USA TODAY Sports
After the New England Patriots 28-22 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday, wide receiver Deandre Hopkins took the opportunity to take a shot at the Patriots defense over Twitter.
“When you see 10, double him,” Hopkins tweeted out postgame.
Hopkins also shared a photo of himself making a reception over Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

The tweet immediately caused a stir, mainly because it didn’t really make sense.
Hopkins individually didn’t have a productive night by any means against the Patriots defense.
Hopkins was targeted just eight times by quarterback DeShaun Watson. He hauled in just five receptions for 64 yards and no touchdowns.
To take things a step further, Hopkins was even less productive when covered by Stephon Gilmore.
Three targets, two receptions for 23 yards.
Gilmore fired back on Twitter an hour later with a cold hard fact.
Deandre Hopkins was doubled just twice all night.
Bro was doubled on only 2 snaps all game and wants to be loud lol

A “Huge W” for Gilmore during another Pro Bowl season.
