Over the course of his NFL career, quarterback Tom Brady has seen a lot of changes as the sport of football continues its attempts to become safer.
However after 20 seasons, it appears Brady found a rule that does really bother him.
On his social media accounts Tuesday, Brady shared a subtle “dig” at the NFL’s new helmet ban policy.
“I think they just didn’t like the way the old helmet was working up in New England” Brady wrote.
Brady’s old helmet, the Riddell VSR-4, is now banned by the NFL.
Brady was one of 32 players using helmets last season that are now banned by the league and players’ association.”
In 2018, the players were able to use the helmets under a final grace period but will now have to make the permanent change in 2019
Speaking with WEEI’s Greg Hill Morning Show Monday, Brady shared his displeasure for the new helmet he has to wear.
“I don’t really love the one that I’m in, but I don’t really have much of a choice. So I’m just trying to do the best that I can to work with it… “And I hated to put [my old helmet] on the shelf, but that was what they kind of said to do, so that’s kind of what I’m dealing with.”
Brady could potentially be seeing his first game action in the new helmet down in Nashville versus the Titans.
