Although the adventures of “Chip and Dale” had to be put on hiatus for the 2017 season as wide receiver Julian Edelman recovers from ACL surgery, his teammate, close friend and “cop partner” Danny Amendola decided to pay tribute to Edelman on Sunday afternoon.
After hauling in his clutch fourth town touchdown reception to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, Amendola spotted a “JE11” towel in the front row and decided to pose with it during the ensuing celebration.
Speaking with the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe after the game, Amendola was asked about the tribute and said “I just saw it over there…I thought I’d push some product.”
