The Patriots have a logjam at the receiver position, and it looks like someone else may be forced to step after a rough night in Detroit for Julian Edelman.

The veteran receiver got the team going early, opening the game with three catches for 52-yards, helping set up the team’s first touchdown to Chris Hogan.

Unfortunately on Edelman’s third reception, the receiver’s knee buckled as he was cutting after the catch and he fell to the turf untouched in obvious pain.

Edelman planted his right foot and knee buckled. This is a very concerning mechanism for an ACL tear. #Patriots pic.twitter.com/rCah3b4mfj

He was later carted to the locker room, leaving everyone wondering about his status moving forward.

The team officially listed him as “Questionable” to return. Hopefully the injury isn’t serious as many of the reports seem to indicate but it’s certainly made things interesting heading into the final weeks of training camp.
