On Tuesday, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman tweeted out a letter he received in the mail from a former college professor of his at The College of San Mateo that wanted to apologize for a “flippant comment” he made in class during the spring of 2006.

In the letter, Edelman told the teacher he was “going to the league” to which the professor responded to the effect of Edelman needed to set “realistic goals” instead.

The professor ended up very wrong, as Edelman of course, was later drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft after transferring to Kent State University in Ohio after his freshman yea and has won helped win two Super Bowls in the past three seasons.

In the tweet Edelman proclaims, “Set your goals high. Do whatever it takes to achieve them #motivation.”
