Cyrus Jones Calls Rookie Season An “Embarrassment” On Social Media
David Butler II - USA TODAY Sports
Despite earning a Super Bowl ring in his rookie season in the National Football League, New England Patriots cornerback Cyrus Jones was not pleased by his performance.
Taking to his newly created Instagram account this week, Jones addressed his season by calling it “by far one of the most challenging times in my life.” Â Jones mainly saw action on special teams instead of corner, but struggled to a tone of five fumbles during punts and kickoffs.
Jones was the Patriots highest drafted player in the 2016 NFL Draft at pick 60 in round 2 due the forfeiture of their first round pick from Deflategate. Containing a picture of himself fielding questions from the media, Jones wrote a lengthy reflection on what went wrong and where he will improve.
