Chiefs head coach Andy Reid saw his team get knocked out Saturday 27-20 against a Patriots team that stepped up and played well, snapping an eleven game winning streak by Kansas City and ending their season.

New England went out and executed their offense almost to perfection, looking about as good as we’ve seen them all year and after the game Reid walked away telling his team to remember this if they want to get to the Patriots’ level.

“My hats off to the New England Patriots, what a great job they’ve done this year,” Reid told the media after the game. “Bill [Belichick] does a phenomenal job here.  It gives us a great example of where we need to be, so this is a good experience for us, that’s the way we’ll take it.  We’ll learn from our mistakes and how you go about your business if you want to continue to play in the postseason.”

One of the things Reid talked about was the fact that one of the biggest issues was the Patriots had everyone healthy, which he emphasized was obviously a key at this time of year.

“Listen, I thought they did a good job.  You’re playing the reigning Super Bowl champs, they got healthy and had everybody out there.  You get to this level, that’s the way you need to roll.  I think they did a nice job, offensively, defensively, and special teams.”

At the end of the day, Reid left Gillette Stadium telling his team to take this and keep it in the back of their minds, which will hopefully help them learn from the experience and get to the next level next year.

“These are things that we can learn from,” said Reid.  “It’s a great opportunity to learn from this if you’re willing to keep your eyes and ears open.”

“I look forward to the next opportunity that we have like this.  But, I’ll have to wait.”
