Former Patriot Doug Flutie’s Parents Tragically Pass Away On Same Day

Boston College standout, Heisman Trophy winner, and former New England Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie revealed on Facebook he lost both of his parents on Wednesday.
Married for 56 years, his father Richard died of a heart attack in the hospital and almost an hour later his mother Joan also had a heart attack, passing away suddenly.
“My Dad coached us as kids and my Mom would work the concession stands,” Flutie wrote. “They were incredible parents and my family and I will miss them both.” The Fluties leave behind three other children, in addition to Doug.
Flutie shared this powerful message on his Facebook tonight regarding the tragic news.
