Stephen Gostkowski Wins AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
The accolades keep coming for New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski as it was announced Wednesday morning that for the second time in his career he has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Against the New York Jets on Sunday, Gostkowski was a perfect three for three on field goal attempts and extended his NFL extra points made streak to 435 in a row going back to his 2006 rookie season.
In a season that had been plagued by missed field goals and a rule change to extra points, Gostkowski hasn’t missed a beat in 2015, going a perfect 15 for 15 on field goal attempts and 25 straight dating back to last seasons postseason run to the Super Bowl.
Gostkowski wins AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for hitting 3 FGs (24, 38, 46) and 3 PATs in 30-23 win over #Jets
