NEW ORLEANS — Quarterback Tom Brady received the Superbowl MVP with his performance over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday night in New England’s 20-17 victory.

Brady finished the evening 16-of-27 for 145-yards passing and a touchdown pass, but will likely be remembered for the final drive that helped set up kicker Adam Vinatieri’s 48-yard game winning field goal to clinch the first championship in franchise history, and the first Boston sports championship since the Boston Celtics won their title back in 1986.

The Patriots took possession with just 1:21 left in the game and there were many who felt that New England may want to run out the clock and try and win the game in overtime. But Brady drove them down the field, taking them all the way to the St. Louis 30-yard line on 8-plays to set up Vinatieri’s field goal.

The second year quarterback becomes the youngest quarterback ever to win a Superbowl (24-years, 6-months).
