According to Adam Schefter, the Patriots are reportedly not expected to trade Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, with Schefter citing league sources.

Michael Lombardi reports that Adam Schefter's report about the team not trading Garoppolo isn't about posturing and increasing Garoppolo's value, it's about the fact they believe he's "good, really good" and that the Patriots "know what they have with Jimmy G."

Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown had little to say Wednesday when asked about Cleveland making a trade offer for Jimmy Garoppolo, who Adam Schefter reported Wednesday would not be traded this offseason. "I wouldn’t comment on a player on another team, it would just be inappropriate for me to do and against league rules," said Brown at the NFL Scouting Combine via Patriots.com. "I understand the interest in that and I’ve seen all the headlines that have been written, but I wouldn’t comment on that."

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, one key reason the Patriots are leaning toward keeping Jimmy Garoppolo is that the Patriots "would not be thrilled now to turn the team over to Jacoby Brissett if Brady is injured."

Cleveland.com Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot reported on Thursday that a source told her that the Patriots will still trade Jimmy Garoppolo "if the offer is right", which she believes may still keep the Browns in the mix for his services.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reported on Friday that despite reports that Garoppolo won't be traded, the Patriots are exploring possibilities of adding a backup quarterback in case they elect to trade him.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, he's citing a source "somewhat connected to the situation" that is saying that the Patriots may be seeking a first-round pick this year and next year in order to part ways with Jimmy Garoppolo.
