It's new, folks. Your friend Mike is on the cutting edge over here. https://t.co/5t6DQANPCu

It may be old, I have no idea, but this hourlong Kevin Garnett interview on NBA TV is marvelous.

@SMarsh7818 thank you so much; I actually found an old Timaron online

It is on my to-do list. Do not know when I will finish it, though. https://t.co/HzkG6RwTge

@cfrelund @DanHellie When will you delete your incorrect tweet? It is currently providing misleading information.

That's half the reason twitter sucks. People need to assume and assign people ideologies based on unrelated ideologies previously voiced.

Nice "gotcha" tweet....people are funny... One's a ridiculous tweet and one's clear, racist hate speech. Now what?… https://t.co/3blG3P5hbd

@chick2694 @ProFootballTalk I was not. Others May have been the first to quote the CBA and include a screenshot.

@CosFot I figured it was a misunderstanding. I appreciate your apology, but it isn't necessary. Thanks.

Here is the relevant portion of the CBA in regards to the exclusive franchise tag tender. https://t.co/317atuDxxD

@DanHellie @cfrelund See attached screenshot of the CBA. Hoping that this helps. https://t.co/Z6qTCzZj50

Here's hoping that they delete the tweet since it is providing a disservice. https://t.co/tYWYpmKeVo

@DanHellie @cfrelund Key Part of the CBA - "or (B) the amount of the Required Tender under Subsection (a)(i) above, whichever is greater."

@DanHellie @cfrelund This is incorrect. See Article 10, Section 2 of the CBA.

@Madroton1 both racists. Are you shocked I'd say so?

See Article 10, Section 2 in the CBA https://t.co/eVpy613Foj for the definitive information on exclusive franchise tags.

I was hoping someone else would post this. Just give the date that Assante Samuel reports to the Pats. Anytime from July 27th on. Never is also an acceptable answer. Giving a reason for your answer is not required but would be appreciated. I'll start.

August 6th - A that point the 2 a days are over. He held out long enough to save face, and has 3 weeks to get into football shape and play in at least one preseason game.

BTW- There should be a prize of some sort for the winner.

    Re: The Assante Samuel Pool

Isn't their significance to the July 15th date?

I'm not a numbers guy, so I need to get some criteria to choose my answer.

My reasoning is, he's a young healthy guy that's seemed to always practice hard. I think his decision will be based on the contract/financial/bluff situation and I don't have that firmly situated in my mind.

If new contract or trade is out the window, I think he folds rather than hold out.

At 3:59 P.M. on July 16th, Asante signs a long term contract which

will be a little more than Bly and Vashar received but much less than

    Clements.

    Re: The Assante Samuel Pool

Boy this was supposed to be just picking a simple date when you think Assante will report

At any rate to answer your question Ray, the July 15th date is the time limit the team has to negotiate a long term deal with the franchise player, after that date the team can ONLY sign the player to a one year deal. Say for example, after the 15th, the Pats want to show good faith and get Samuel into camp on time, so they offer him an extra million to the franchise number. They can do this, but it HAS to be just a one year deal. The player can sign the tender at any time from now, and he would be guaranteed the $8MM tender offer as a one year deal.

    When: Never
Reason: Asante is a punk who doesn't know a good offer when he sees it and i'm tired of speculating when he's coming back

BTW- let me know when i win my prize. lol

I'll predict that one of the current corners goes down to an injury in training camp. Belichick bends over and offers Samuel a killer 5 year contract and he signs. We go...grumble...grumble...grumble until he picks Chad twice in the opener and everybody says, "I always loved that guy!".

    I say never.

I say it because of those who have gone before him.

I didn't predict a date so Sept 2nd sounds good.

It's hard to imagine Belichick caving in, but this team is looking darned good. In that situation he just might swallow a bit of pride to make it happen.

9/5 Wednesday before the opener. In time to gameplan for Week 1. He'll in essence be in a "contract year" so he won't jeapordize any weeks performance, but he won't come in before he feels he absolutely has to.

    Re: The Assante Samuel Pool

Well, if he's signing on the 16th, it won't be with the Pats if its a long term deal. He has until the 15th to sign a long term deal with the Pats. Otherwise, he can ONLY sign a one year deal AND can not sign a long term deal until after the season is over.

Special extension because the 15th falls on a Sunday, deadline is the 16th I believe.
