By testing positive for performance enhancing drugs during his standout 2006 season, San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman set himself up for increased scrutiny in '07 – including from within his own locker room. Some San Diego players are questioning whether "Lights Out" is the same player as he was before the positive test, and watching him get waxed by Jaguars halfback Maurice Jones-Drew on a third quarter touchdown pass in Jacksonville's 24-17 victory surely did nothing to dissuade them. "I don't see people doubling him or chipping to account for him this year," one Chargers player said of Merriman last week. "There's no question Shaun Phillips is our best pass rusher right now."

Merriman on steroids affects the game way more than sideline video ever did.

LT on NFL Total Access came out and said that Shawn is 'now' mad about the embarrassment of the hit and will take it out on the rest of the league. What a joke. When will LT just shut up.

We will now refer to Shawn Merriman as...'Lights Out and Nobodys Home'!

Wait, then it's possible the outcomes of games were affected by his cheating... so now they'll be fined 750K and lose a first round pick, right? Right, they will, right? Right?

I'm not much of a music person. What's the song. "The lights are on. You're not home." Something like that at the beginning. Peter Gabriel maybe...we can play that when their defense takes the field in the playoffs against us. Which I doubt they make.

And next week, LT will say that Merriman is now back to playing like a defensive MVP, and in 2 weeks LT will say he's not sure whats wrong with Merriman, but they need to find the answer quick. LT; what a joke

We're supposed to be "understanding and respectfull" of people with addiction problems. It's not his fault he turned to performance enhancing drugs. Just look at the pressure he's under from a lack of playmaking without them.

It's right there with how the Patriots "cheated" with video taping. Look how bad they suck without it. Obviously it was all about taping hand signals and now the lack of success of this team has exposed how important it was to have that "competetive edge".

If only we could be as pure and classy as the Chargers and the '72 Dolphins with Don Shula. They only threw for it with 4 minutes left in the 4th QTR and a 45 point lead to hand NE the worst loss in franchise history.

I hope Don and the rest of those losers choke on whatever swill they bought at 7-11. If Miami goes 0-16 this year, will their be a get together?

These guys just have Loser-itis so bad, they may have to turn over the whole roster. Can you imagine a Patriot saying this?
