Agreed, but it’d be great value if he did.No way Moore makes it to 96.

Bill has consistently passed on great route running WRs in the draft for the prototype size and or speed.Probably not but I wouldn’t be so certain.
I just have a feeling that Smith is going to ball out and be the best WR in this class, silencing the doubters about his size. It wouldn’t shock me if Bill and Co. are floored by his releases and route running and consider him to be a truly “special” player whom they can’t pass up, if he drops to 15 (unlikely).
If we trade down, Newsome seems right.I expect smith, pitts, waddle and chase to l be off the board before we pick!
same with all 5 qb’s and parsons.
therefore unless cb horn is available at 15, we need to trade down with the Titans and take either wr Moore of ole miss or wr toney of Florida!
Horn is perfect for our defense and would be a fantastic replacement for Gilmore starting in 2022, but if horn is off the board, a slot receiver that is also a total playmaker is a need and Moore and toney are two great ones that should be available in the 20’s.

So Smith will not be drafted by Bill. He has never prioritized that type of Wr, when he has targeted one.
Why not? We could really use a top option receiver. It’s as significant need, if you truly believe a guy available at 15 is a stud receiver and best player available, take him. That is unless we are simply spooked by our history of drafting receivers and are too scared to do so.REPEAT ONE HUNDRED TIMES
We are not drafting a WR is the first round.

We are much more likely to draft one of the following: QB, OT, CB, TE, EDGE, or an ILB.
He picked Bethel Johnson over Anquon Boldin, because of speed. He has consistently passed on most WRs in the first two rounds over 20 years, not just undersized elite route runners.
His most successful WR draft pick, and one of his favorite WRs during his NFL coaching career was a small WR from Louisville with elite route running skills (he didn’t know what he had with Edelman at the time, so I didn’t count him).
When has BB had the (potential) opportunity to draft an undersized elite route runner who had one of the greatest college seasons for a WR in NCAA history, playing against elite competition?

He traded up to the top of the 2nd Rd to draft Chad Jackson over Greg Jennings. Greg Jennings was the best route running Wr that draft.
He drafted Dropson over the best route running Wr, Keenan Allen, in the 2nd Rd.
He took the 6 4" muscle guy over the best route running Wr in AJ Brown ij the first Rd.
Watching Keenan Allen and the way he ran routes and the ability he showed in college to gain YAC, I thought how could Bill pass on this guy?And BB would never go on a massive spending spree in free agency....
Every year is different. Every player is different. BB has the ability to learn from his mistakes and perhaps he has indeed decided to be more collaborative this offseason.
I don’t know how you could watch Smith last year, including the epic performance in the final game of his career, and conclude that Belichick would never draft that guy.

Pats have zero chance of going WR TE or QB in the first round. Period. Its going to be a front 7 player. Fits Belichicks MO or a Guard. If its an offensive player we'll know Kraft overruled Bill.
If Pitts makes it to 15, it is because he was recently busted for distributing meth.I can't think of any reason we wouldn't take a WR in the first round that doesn't also apply to TE, unless you're specifically talking about Pitts.
For example, the Lions’ new head coach Dan Campbell is a meathead who wants players that will “bite kneecaps”.

For me it’s QB or Micah ParsonsGiving Cam another shrimp target to throw to would be as useful as a knuckle in my johnson.
Either take a QB in the first or take the BPA and grab a QB in the second. We have two OT's and two starting CB's who likely will be gone next year. WR is way down on the list of needs and when has a WR ever led a team to a ring?
