    Schefter: Pats sign Brandon Lloyd

Would love to see Michael Floyd fall to the Pats but it's a pipe dream.

    Schefter: Pats sign Brandon Lloyd

I literally watched every minute of every game of Smith's career and broke down film of about 70% of those games and Smith is a very, very solid player. He is fast (4.5 range in the 40 and it shows on the field), athletic (34 inch vertical and 4.12 short shuttle time - outstanding) and he is...

    Pete Prisco's top 50 FA's

Consistency is achieved by playing a lot with the guys around you, getting a ton of both practice and game reps so you can start to predict what your teammates are going to do in a given situation. Bringing in a new guy isn't necessarily going to improve consistency. Also, this notion of...

    Anyone else over Rodney Harrison?

He can say whatever he wants, but he is wrong about this. I would have no problem with a teammate having a good time despite the loss. The world isn't ending because the Patriots didn't win the Super Bowl.

    Safety

While I was watching the game, I actually felt the non-calls on Sterling Moore for PI were make-up calls...

I do understand what you're saying, but the very title of the rule implies a subjective component, in which case the call should not have been made. It is yet another rule that is insufficiently explained in the NFL. NFL officials need to take a good, long look at the rulebook this offseason.

    Safety

I contend that intent could not clearly be inferred from what happened on that play. It was not necessarily the wrong call, but not necessarily the right call either. It is not a black and white rule, therefore it should not have been called.

    Safety

The need for intent is implied in the wording of the actual rule: "Intentional grounding of a forward pass." So, to call a rule "Intentional grounding" inherently states that intent on the part of the QB IS, in fact, necessary to make the call.

    Safety

No it wasn't. There was not clear intent to throw the ball away.
  10. B

    Safety

No, it was NOT the correct call. There must be clear intent to throw the ball away, which there wasn't.

    CHFF:Tom Brady: Not So Terrific

Brady played well enough to win. Period.

Bedard: Dont blame Welker, blame the pass

It really wasn't high, he didn't need to jump.

    CHFF:Tom Brady: Not So Terrific

As i said, put any QB in the playoffs for a decade straight and things will even out.

Bedard: Dont blame Welker, blame the pass

Re: Bedard:Dont blame welker,Blame the pass I agree. But I'm talking about the context of this article and subsequent thread.

Bedard: Dont blame Welker, blame the pass

Re: Bedard:Dont blame welker,Blame the pass It's flat out wrong to not place some blame on Welker.

    CHFF:Tom Brady: Not So Terrific

This is ******ed. Any QB with that many opportunities in the post season is going to regress to the mean, just like Derek Jeter in baseball.
  17. B

Bedard: Dont blame Welker, blame the pass

The blame lies with both players, to make any other claim is just wrong.
  18. B

The play that defined a Super Bowl.

Indeed, beyond that, the fact that there was pressure - which made it a penalty in the first place - could have influenced the throw. It was a terrible call, absolutely horrible. It definitely impacted the game, but there were bad calls against both teams. Moore got to the receiver early a...

All Calm in NE, But NY Fans Cause Disturbances @ UMass

Kid was a dumbass for doing that, but that was a pretty cheap shot, the guy had his back turned.

2 weeks to prepare and we get 3 running plays

BJGE is 220 lbs, he is big enough and runs hard enough to be the power back. You just have to commit to it and not miss blocks at crucial times. I understand leaving the backside DE unblocked when he's a plodding run stopper, but how do you leave arguably the Giants' best player who possesses...
