I didn't care for the AAF or the original version of the XFL but I kind of enjoyed watching the LA vs Houston game. I would certainly watch other games.
The audio was far superior to the NFL I liked hearing the audio real time rather then having to wait for it to be released like in the NFL...
I think they were saving the punishment for maximum effect, like before the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl if the Patriots made it that far. Probably was going to be fines and a loss of draft pick because the big bad Patriots are repeat offenders of breaking the rules regardless of how...
It reminds me of what Gronk always had to put up with. Having a DB mauling you as you run your route restricting your movements and the only way to have room to raise your arms to catch the ball is to push the DB off of you. Good non-call on the play. They let the DB get away with being...
Even some players cry after a tough loss in the playoffs. It's normal behavior. Now if he starts saying that the only way the Titans won was because they cheated, then I would start to worry. That's a condition that can't be cured and seems to last a lifetime.
Let me see, Patriots went 12-4, Made the playoffs but lost. So for a season or 2 the Patriots are not an elite team. There are plenty of teams that would love to be in our position. Since Deflategate the Patriots have been on a run and it's hard to maintain that level of excellence.
So for...
Here is part of an article by Karen Guregian after Andrews was lost.
"To get a better idea about what’s involved between the center and quarterback, we consulted Damien Woody, who played both guard and center for the Patriots.
“Losing a center, is a pretty big blow,” said Woody, now an ESPN...
Thank you all for your replies. I know what protection is but how it is called has always been a bit confusing. I always presumed that the initial play call includes the protection scheme. Something like on this play the TE and the RB will be used in protection. I always thought the center then...
I see Brady point and call out the Mike LB but I watch other games and I don't see other QB's doing this. Is this because Brady is setting the protection instead of the center? Also, once the Mike is pointed out, can't the defense shift to confuse the protection.
Thanks, I never heard this podcast before. I just listened to the last two and I enjoyed them. Dave seems a very thoughtful guy. Iron Mike on the other hand! Yikes!
I would like to point out that it took Edelman 5 years to turn into a top tier receiver and people are already given up on Harry after only two starts.
Patriots tend to trade their draft picks to acquire veteran receivers rather then use the picks in the draft.
Belichick was asked about...
Now I wish they would have assessed the 15 yard penalty. Patriots wanted to give the punter some more room but Gase declined the two penalties. I wonder what Gase's reaction would be? I don't think he could decline the 15 yard penalty.
According to a Washington Post article, it was changed in 1978.
The league has changed the rules on pass blocking to allow an offensive lineman to extend his arms and use an open hand in warding off those grabby, pushy, smack-em-in-the head defensive linemen...
From the NFL Injury Report Policy:
Practice Report:
If any player has a significant or noteworthy injury, it must be listed on the practice report, even if he fully participates in practice and the team expects that he will play in the team’s next game. This is especially important for key...
I watched the SB with my sister and brother-in-law. He fell asleep after the first quarter and my sister ended up working on a jigsaw puzzle she got for xmas. They are casual fans they barely know the basics. My excitement in the 4th qtr got them both watching again and we enjoyed the finish.
I think because of the pre-snap read, Brady thought Hogan would be open but LA disguised the coverage and caught Brady by surprise. I don't know if that caused the throw to be high and inside and a bit wobbly but I suspect it did.
