Ty Law credits Tedy Bruschi for his success

Saw on fb the other day the list of the really great qbs Ty has picked off: brady, manning, marino, jim kelly, steve young, troy aikman, kurt warner. Damn!

Funny bit from Law's recent appearance on Edelman's podcast:

At some point when the hall of fame starts to recognize there aren't enough Patriots I really hope Tedy sneaks in. Probably will be Edelman though and I'm good with that too. And this probably doesn't happen for a decade or so.

Outside of the no brainers like Gronk we deserve a couple lesser likelies as well otherwise the greatest dynasty will have the least HoFs.

Tedy has zero shot. Love the player, but he didn't amass enough individual accolades to get in. Tom, Gronk, Rodney, Vince, Adam, Stephon... maybe McCourty gets some traction, but I doubt it.

Agree and feel the same way about Troy Brown, I don’t see that dynasty happening without those two guys making so many big plays at crucial times, but the HOF voting setup is corrupt, it is more about “one hand washes the other” for the “journalists” such as plagiarist Borges to gain power over the players, coaches, and others on whom they report.

I was like a lot of fans who really got into the NFL in the 1970s, respecting the Steelers dynasty. I think of Jack Ham as a comparable player to Bruschi. I didn’t look up the numbers on him but to me Ham was a no-doubter as a HOF because of all the huge plays I remember him making in their 4 championship run. With that said, Ham had HOF Joe Greene in front of him, HOF Jack Lambert next to him, and HOF Mel Blount and Donnie Shell behind him. That’s a but more than Bruschi had and the rule changes implemented after Ham and before and during Bruschi should be considered in that comparison.

Life definitely isn’t fair sometimes

You look at the 70s Steelers and Cowboys and they have like 20 players in.

We deserve a few players who maybe don't have the individual numbers but had huge roles in the winning. Jules, Tedy, Willie, and Dmac come to mind. I'm not saying all 4 should be in but one or 2.

I'd like to see a few OL get in too.

But your probably right about no shot. I mean they won't even let Rodney in. They hate Patriots.

Agreed. Zach Taylor waited a while to get in and he had 700 more tackles than Bruschi. Don’t get me wrong, I thought Tedy was the superior leader and more clutch which won’t show up on a stat sheet but Zach getting the pro bowl honors and Ray Lewis getting the others just meant he played among elite players during his tenure. It just is what it is

Zach Thomas or Jason Taylor? Pretty sure you mean Thomas.

And without getting into a debate about which duo (Willie/Bru) was better if the Phins got both in you'd think we could get one in based on rings.

Brain fart. Yeah, they are synonymous in my mind.

Obviously when the game were close Willie and Bruschi all day.

I checked up on your comment regarding the steelers and cowboys and whole heartedly agreed with you. What I found was very different. Since I was home sick with the flu and nothing better to do.

Lets use the 90’s Dallas Dynasty for example.

J Johnson
Aikman
Irvin
E Smith
Larry Allen.
^all obvious

Haley (Mercenary) via 49ers
Dion Sanders (mercenary) Atlanta, 49ers,etc

Thats it. No Chadd Hennings, no Nate Newton, no Marc Stepnoski, Darryl Johnston, no Jay Novacek, no Darren Woodson, no Mark Tunei, Erik Williams and the list goes on. I’m sure Cowboys fans are not happy with the representation either. 6 players and 1 coach. Was kind of shocked by that one.

At the end of the day, Patriots will probably have

Bill Belichick shoe in
Tom Brady shoe in
Seymour in
Law in
AV shoe in, he better fn pick us
Gronkoswki. Shoe in
Harrison (mercenary) should be. Will be

Could argue for
Welker 903 for 9924
Edelman 620 for 6822
McGinnist all time leader playoff sacks
Wilfork one of the best NTs ever
Light protected goat’s blind side
Any others?

Now look at the Steelers Dynasty of the 70’s who are in.

Chuck Noll obvious
Terry Bradshaw obvious
Franco Harris 12th rush yds, 10 tds still..
John Stallworth 537 for 8723 14 seasons
Lynn Swann 336 for 5462 9 seasons
Jack Lambert dpoy 76 obvious
Jack Ham obvious
Joe Greene dpoy 74 obvious
Mike Webster obvious
Mel Blount dpoy 75, obvious has his own rule
Donnie Schell could be argued but he was damn good.

Seems pretty fair to me. Although Lynn Swanns numbers don’t stack up today I think as a kid everyone knew who he was. Game also changed quite a bit.

Tedy will always be my favorite Patriot of all time. He was the epitome of the original and best version of The Patriot Way.
My favorite memory of Bruschi is when he jumped over the OL ...
never saw that before ... beast mode to get the boss.

****in' love Bru

One of the all time great Patriot Players... I put him in the same circles as the retired jersey club in terms of what he meant to this team

Along with Julian Edelman, Is the face of Do Your Job, of The Patriot Way for me

Vince Wilfork belongs in Canton. The HOF is for players who dominated at their position throughout their career, and Wilfork did exactly that. Until he tore his achilles at the end of his career I can’t ever remember coming away from a game saying “ Wilfork played like **** today,” because it never happened.

I would not classify Rodney Harrison as a mercenary...the Chargers cut Harrison... It wasn't like he sabre-rattled his way out of San Diego looking for more money...

And yeah, he has more than earned his place in Canton

In addition to the anti Patriots bias, I think that style of play is a factor in the relatively low number of Pats in the HOF given the amount of on field success. Changing the game plan to attack the opponent coupled with the philosophies of spreading the ball around on offense and a bend but don't break defense was not conducive to individuals accumulating eye popping stats. It is hard to compare Tedy's best years and someone like Brian Urlacher's best years based on the stats used for HOF selection.
