Crazy that the Bolts had Herbert for 13 games and a healthy-ish KAllen for 13 games, and they only won 1 more game than the Pats last year. KAllen's also coming off season ending shoulder and foot injuries, so after the JSS experience, I'm sure the FO is itchin' to get more damaged goods, this time someone who actually failed a physical.

Since any free agent WR left is close to being a “JAG” and can be had for a 4th round pick or less then why wouldn’t we wait for the draft rather than pay any inflated $’s for a “free” agent. Unless of course you want to “burn some cash”…

This post aged well. Hollywood Brown got $11m. I guess people agreed he's not worth $20m. Of course, people may wonder why he's not worth more than Algholor money, and that would be fair. But he's evidently not the difference maker we needed.

I can see a solid argument for the Patriots using stopgap measures at tackle this year and drafting WRs in the 2nd and 3rd round.

I think tackle is a bigger need, and I expected we'd address WR in FA, but at this point, we're on to second plan and more desperate measures

Because the chiefs have Mahomes, and he is putting himself in a position to get 100 catches and 20 mil avg next year along with a ring. do you think even if we offered 15 mill for the year that he would chosen the pats, if he did his agent should be fired.

Higgins and aiyuk have been in trade speculation for the past week. Bengals just inked burrow to a monster deal and will have to pay chase. 49ers unless they can move deebo will have trouble paying aiyuk long term too.

Clarification if you can read and comprehend here are my Top WR's for the Patriots in FA 2024 whether by sign or Trade... Aiyuk - Tee Higgins and Ridley. Multitasking might be a problem for you.

Allen, Brown, Ridley, etc. are older. None of them are really on the timeline where they need to be for a young QB led team. Do you want a 32 year old aging WR with 2nd year starter?

I don't think anyone offered him near that. It would have been insane for him to turn down a multi-year contract at top money so he could play 1 yr at half that amount in the hope of earning a multiyear $20m contract in the future.

Don't we have to assume that he left very little money on the table?

He'll get a much better contract playing with Mahomes after one year, but it won't be anywhere near $20m.
