If there’s a team willing to pay you to play a game of football take the money. And all considered even with those INTs the arm isn’t at the 2015 manning level yet. I’m honestly more concerned with Gronk at this point than TB.

joe montana wishes he quit sooner.......I think goats should leave on top.....that's just my opinion.....nothing to prove and all the money in the world.....if he's still out there for the money, that's even more pathetic

Yes because he owes it to you of all people to stop doing what he loves because you don't like it.

he doesn't owe me anything........I don't have a problem with him being pathetic.....he can be whatever he wants

I think turning down 50 million dollars to do something I love is stupid but I guess we cant all be as enlightened as you.

I believe pathetic is what I called it......if he needs crutches when he's 55, it's on him.....hope it will have been worth it

The very hubris that gave him the edge to win 6 in the first place.

And of all the QBs, the guy that spends 20 years never once complaining publicly, or embarrass the franchise, or raping anyone, or taking the MAX contract, is the guy who apparently has character flaws.

Not the other QBs.

it will be pathetic to watch him flub his way to the end........I don't care either way, but it will be pathetic

I'm a fan of the New England Patriots. Not Tom Brady (especially after he showed his true, whiny colors last year). Once a player leaves he's dead to me. There's no conflict at all between cheering for NE and wanting to see non-NE teams lose.

In any case, it's certainly better than the so-called NE fans who want to see NE lose, TB win the SB, etc.
oh a proud member of "the player is gone so he's dead to me" club. Fine wear it as badge of honor like it's some kind of true fan evidence.

Blah blah blah pathetic blah blah. Yes the most successful person to ever play the most difficult position in sports who is married to a super model and has millions and millions of dollars. So pathetic says the angry man behind the keyboard. But tell me again how much you don't care.

That's the funniest part is they act like it makes them a true fan and anyone who dare root for Brady still isn't as hardcore as them.

Wonder how she felt after Arians treated him like "Johnny F**king Tampa" by throwing him under the bus to the media
That's a strong point. At least BB kept his criticisms largely in house.

I don't mind this thread being here -- it's interesting and entertaining. But given it's placement, don't be surprised when non-believers comment. It's irresistible.

My personal take: I don't root for players who leave the team. Vinatieri and Welker and now Brady and Gronk are all but dead to me. They stopped helping the team I've passionately cared about for literally 57 years. I don't blame any of them for making their decisions, and I might be interested to watch how they do, but I don't root for them at all. I wish they had stayed and retired as Patriots, but again that's their personal career choice.

The Brady thing is a little different because of the Brady vs Belichick relative dynastic contribution question. I root for Belichick solely because he's still with the team, and if it turns out he's more responsible, it's good for the team. If Belichick had left and Brady had stayed, I sure as hell would be rooting for Brady to prove he was more important.

Another thought: another reason I hope Belichick is vindicated, is that I hope that his impact on the organization could extend for years even after he retires as coach, hopefully setting the Pats up for continued success. QB's can't have that kind of posthumous impact. If the system was Brady, as some here argue, perhaps correctly, then we're doomed. If the system is Belichick's, we could be saved for years from lapsing into mediocrity.

That's all. I understand that every fan will have a different take.

For someone who complains about other people's extreme takes, you're taking some pretty extreme takes yourself:
If the Patriots had offered Brady what the Bucs did there is a 0.0% chance he is not a New England Patriot. There are always going to be bumps in the road in a 20 year relationship. Bill and Brady hit a bump in the road in 2017 then patched it up. Then Brady wanted to play to 45 and Bill didn't want him playing to 45 with the Patriots and Tom left. Pretty simple.
I just think Bill was ready to move on and basically didn't offer him anything.
There is room for some middle ground, such as:
My honest assessment is that BB was not actively pushing Brady out or actively trying to keep him, BB just did what he does with every other player that he has ever dealt with- assigned them a value threshold which he refused to exceed.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I am not sure what I said that was so extreme. That if Bill offered Brady what the Bucs did he would still be here? I don’t think that is extreme I think it is common sense. Also my comment about Bill being ready to move on I prefaced by saying "Obviously I am speculating here".

My take is Brady would be here if Bill wanted him here. Obviously I don't know that the same way everyone who claims Brady just wanted to leave doesn't know that either. The only thing I am complaining about are the people trashing Brady because he no longer wears the uniform. Some of the posts in this thread you would think we were on a Colts or Steelers forum the way Brady is discussed.

Everyone still love BB and Tom. In the end, it is just a coping mechanism by pats fan against Brady departure. Some here, try to find something that tells us that the decision to let Brady leave was the right one. They can’t root for Tom in Tampa just because if he plays well that would mean that he could’ve still been here playing well for the pats. That’s all it is. It easier for them to convince themselves that he sucks. And opposite to that, they are 100% with BB because it reassure them that it means the Patriots can still be good and in contention. Because if they’re not, they are afraid that the pats will become the jets. That’s basically all it is.

It certainly is generous of you to offer your free online therapy sessions here. Not all of us would be so presumptuous to assume that we know exactly how strangers online think about things.

« He’s the coach, I’m the player »... doesn’t sound like someone who’s having Lane Johnson type fun atm...

Long season (hopefully) so we’ll see how it goes. Some laughed at me when I suggested Tampa was being overrated. Maybe egg on my face in January, but we’ll see.

What say Patsfans. Should I start a "Brady Family Homeless" thread or not?
Total board meltdown to follow.
I thought he was building his own castle in the area?

Brady rarely has 2 bad games in a row and usually has a big bounce back game the following week. However, if he doesn't this week, I'd be pushing the panic button.

His mind reading influence on Evans and Godwin slowed them down considerably on Sunday and they looked absolutely clueless at times. That, I blame on Brady as these guys are proven talents and can beat defenders to spots. If Tom continues down this path where he expects the WR's to have 5 route options in mind on the fly, I can see it not going well. This was one of the main reasons I thought the WR's for the Pats didn't mind Brady taking a hike.

Yet you said Bill didn't offer him anything which is not what was reported, and you said it was about age and not about performance. If it was about age, BB would have moved on at 38 instead of 43.

He's playing CAR instead of NO. TB is favored by 7.5. TB should be able to win convincingly.

Well, it's not as simple as getting "weaponz", that's for sure.
