We’ve got to go with stidham IMO. Those who are saying we’re rebuilding need to stfu, this isn’t a total rebuild. A total rebuild would be having a new coach, new GM and all of the captains leaving. Look on the bright side, at least we don’t have people saying our qb is too old. There’s no qb currently on the market who is remarkably better than Stidham is. Andy Dalton sucks and teddy bridgewater was a backup for a reason. Only other option is trading up which BB doesn’t do very often.

wait lol what makes Stidham better than Bridgewater and Dalton? Is it his preseason tape vs players currently playing in the xfl or his college tape

College tape. Bridgewater was supposed to be Minnesota’s franchise qb until he got hurt.

If you guys don't like religious types, you're really going to love Stidham lol...

Stidham is the best chance to get Lawrence in my mind so let him have a crack.

If he turns out to be a franchise QB then it's an instant win instead of one rubbish season.

So it's a win win really...unless he goes 8-8 plays meh and leaves the Pats in no man's land :p

That pic still rubs me the wrong way. That's a lot of arrogance for a guy who's done nothing in the NFL and is following in the footsteps of the greatest. I don't think you get to crown yourself before you've even earned the starting job. It should be the fans who crown you anyway.

It's a bit concerning there are rumours the Pats are looking at high priced FA/trade QBs as far as that tells us anything about the Pats' confidence in him.
I'm dubious that actually comes from Stidham (if you mean the throne one). Photoshop is easy.

I am vigorously tearing up the sofa!

Actually the Taysom Hill stuff kind of makes sense to me. I can see Bill wanting to replace Brady, who had become a big larger-than-life icon who was almost “above the team” even if he rarely took advantage of that status, with a scrappy kid who quite literally does everything - special teams, kickoff coverage, rushes the passer (lol), punt returns, halfback, every damn thing. It readjusts the team back to the mantra of doing your job, whatever it takes to win, etc. Additionally, the dude is fast as hell and has a cannon arm. I don’t know if he’s an elite prospect but if McDaniels wants to shift to a more modern offense like other teams are running, you could definitely do worse athletically than Hill.

Even if he comes in and isn’t the starter, that’s ok - most of the above points still stand because it means he pushed Stidham to beat him to be the starter and the work ethic was raised that much higher collectively.

I bet the Patriots will draft a qb, and sign/trade for a qb. For the first time in a while, I expect them to carry 3 qb and give all a chance to win the job.

Whoever wins the qb job they are going to need to be aided by a strong run game. It might be interesting to see how Sony looks in an offense with a dual-threat QB, or how the receivers would react to a QB who can throw the deep ball.

Jim Kelly came from the USFL.

Any XFL QBs worth a look - see?

There is a big difference between the USFL & the XFL.

The USFL paid top dollar & signed a lot of NFL stars.

The XFL paid peanuts & it was a good landing spot for players who have been cut or did not make the NFL.

There may be a player or two from the XFL that makes it to the NFL as a backup or special team player, but there are no Jim Kelly’s.

After 2 decades of BB finding players from practice squads and off the street, and making competent players out of them... You're just going instantly dismiss a new pool of possible talent?

Andy Dalton.

Not that I think this is a good idea. But, there is nothing left but QB scrubs...

BTW - I don't mind if the Patriots tank, gets a top-5 pick for 2021.

Is this real? I'd cut that guy over his attempts to replicate the Brady meme alone. How about you finish a game without throwing a pick-6 before you start with that nonsense.

Is this some passive aggressive shot at my man Brady?
