OT: Thought This Was Funny

Considering what we got in return. I wouldn’t have minded keeping him in 2016.

But we won the SB anyways so it’s all moot now. Wouldn’t have been worth the money here.

They got Thuney and Mitchell. It also allowed Trey Flowers to develop. Plus they saved a lot of cap space. And they were never signing CJ for what he got anyway.

I find it amazing these guys are out shopping at grocery stores.

Then again, I’d probably walk past some of them and maybe do a double take but not be 100% it was them.

Either that or face the moral dilemma of should I say something or let them have their privacy??

Ran into Matt Light one night when we was still active.. and told myself leave him alone, it was family time for him.

I ran into KVN doing the same thing at Wegman's. Funny thing was- the place was busy and I was the only one who recognized him.

He was very unassuming, unremarkable. Didn't have any bling on.

Was in the LAX airport last summer and saw a guy wearing an old school Pats jersey and was about to ask if he was from New England when I realized it was Doug Flutie.... Said " Hello Mr. Flutie" and kept on going.... Would I have felt like a moron if I had asked him....

Trading Chandler Jones wasn't a great move at all.

The inverse must be true then - correct? Let's see how well that has worked out...

The Cardinals paid Jones:
2016 $7,799,000
2017 $22,000,000
2018 $12,500,000
2019 $16,500,000

Their record those years:
2016 7-8-1
2017 8-8
2018 3-13
2019 3-4

Great return on that investment!!

BTW, the dead money if cut after this year is no small matter either:
2020 $12,666,667
2021 $5,333,334

Considering his cap hits in 2020 & 2021, I can't see them keeping him unless he extends.

BTW Jones numbers in relation to the other Patriots during these years:
2016 $7,799,000 #3 on the Patriots cap and about 5% of their cap
2017 $22,000,000 #1 on the Patriots cap and over 13% of their cap
2018 $12,500,000 #2 on the Patriots cap and about 7% of their cap
2019 $16,500,000 #2 on the Patriots cap and about 8% of their cap

In 2017, he would have made $8 Million more than Brady.

That surprised me too. Thanks to Amazon I haven't been in a grocery store in a year.

Flutie is one of my favorite Patriots and was definitely my stepfather's favorite Patriot. That said, it's kind of sad that he's walking around in public in his old jerseys.
