Cleveland doesn't scare me in no shape, form or fashion! Baltimore is 50/50 but if the Pats have the perfect game plan they can leave that stadium with a win! Don't even get me started with the Fleagles!Pats have their bye week prior to the Eagles game.
The downside to that is smart teams self scout during their bye so the film has less value.Reiss pointed out one thing I hadn't thought of myself.....that there was an advantage from a game planning standpoint. For example, the Pats staff already has all the tape broken down on the Browns as they did not play yesterday. And next week, ditto for Baltimore...as the game in Seattle yesterday was their final game prior to our match up. So, the video staff is probably working on the Baltimore tapes now...and should have everything ready right after the Jets game for the next two opponents.
NFL Team Win Trends - After A Bye
According to this summary of team records after the bye (going back to 2003), not many teams see a big advantage to their bye week. In fact, only a little over half the teams have a winning record in the game following their bye.
Check out number 1 though. Watch out Philadelphia.
those numbers include playoffs, that’s why pats have so many more games counting after a 1st round bye.NFL Team Win Trends - After A Bye

Per that site, since 2003 the Ravens and Eagles have winning percentages after a bye at about 20% above their overall winning percentage. Not many except for Philadelphia and Baltimore which just happen to be #2 and #3. Coincidence? Lets just say its more probable than not that the NFL was generally aware of this when they made the schedule.
And considering that Cleveland is 6-10 after a bye. That probably is a benefit considering their record over all. Indeed it is. 37% vs 29%.
Three consecutive opponents coming off of bye weeks:
Browns, Ravens, Eagles.......that ain't right

Dont the Pats get a little rusty after a bye? Not sure of the stats but in the back of my mind I seem to remember we always anticipate they come out of the gate like a race horse but instead they start slow. Maybe it will be the same for the other teams.
A while back (too many seasons for it to matter any more), I did a tally of their record after the bye, and it ended up being good, but definitely worse than their overall record.
