Reports/Speculation: Texans will pursue Caserio AGAIN after 2020 Draft/UPDATE - Rumor: He wants out

I wouldn't be surprised.

As long as bill is here he'll never have full control and get to do everything his way. He could have that somewhere else.
He won't get full control in Houston either, as long as Bill is around

Nick fills a lot of roles for the Pats...it's unheard of all the things he does for the team. I'll be happy if he signs a 10 year contract extension. If he wants to leave in 2020 so be it...but he needs to train-up Monti Ossenfort with everything he knows for the next 10-11 months.

It’s a good thing Belichick doesn’t know that Caserio wants to run the Texans a year from now.

Don’t anyone tell him, he’ll be pissed.

It does sound like Caserio wanted the Texans job. Now I do not think tampering should be condoned or rewarded, so the Pats were right to raise a stink. But if he really wants to go, I doubt he would be really missed.

How does it sound like Caserio wanted the Texans job???

Exactly what are you referrring to?

.

I'm at the point, and have been for some time, that if anyone no longer wants to be part of the teams I root for my reaction is, "Bye, have nice life. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out."

Title is misleading.. Needs to be changed to VOLIN RUMOR:

Somebody said that he wanted it. Case closed, and might I add, Homer's not just a Greek epic poet.

Part of the issue is people are not willing to wait forever. Was true with Brady and is true with BB. No one knows when they will exit.

You’re making **** up. “Part of the issue is” you’re pulling stuff out of your colon. You’re making statements on something you have no idea about. I don’t know either. Only difference is that I have the common sense not to be an idiot about it and pretend I have some sort of inside track.

My GOD! I can't believe most of you have put ANY validity behind this story. It was written by Ben F*cking Volin. The only Patriot beat reporter who has fewer sources inside Gillette than me.....and I have NONE!

This is the SAME Ben Volin who, one the same day that the Texans called off the chase, reported that "the deal was done, and Casserio was DEFINITELY going to Houston". Now you want me to believe that for the rest of this year Casserio will be another "disgruntled" Patriot employee. When will you learn.

ANYTHING that starts with the term "as reported by Ben Volin" needs to be immediately redacted. PFT should know that by now...,and so should the rest of you. Until someone with legitimate (read as real and not imaginary) reports this, its a non-story, fake news, or however you want to call it.

BTW- notice that not a single other beat reporter has written anything even similar. They are all to busy snickering behind Volin's back.

We don’t call him the MCI for nuthin!

If Caserio had no interest in going, this was a one day story.

Well that shows your utter ignorance of the State of Journalism in 2019.

I'm at the point where I won't have an opinion about it until it actually happens. Rumors aren't worth my time.

Apologies mods but I think this is a unique topic which shouldn't be merged.

NFL Rumors: Patriots’ Nick Caserio ‘Wants Out,’ Desires Texans GM Job

I don't know how reliable Ben Volin is as a source but I can easily see Caserio feeling he's paid his dues and want the Texans job.

Caserio has been here since 2001. He's more than paid his dues to be promoted General Manager or VP of the Pats.
Sounds like Volin doubling down on his bad reporting from last week.

Who the hell wants to talk to Trollin? I imagine him calling sources up and getting repeatedly hung up on.

“Who’s this”
“Ben Vo”
“Yeah, No tnx” click

The only thing Trollin got right was it would be a lateral move. BOB will have final say.

Volin is about as knowledgeable about the Patriots as my wife is about the WWE.

If you believe Nick Casserio is not a vital part of the nucleus of this team/dynasty, then you might be right.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I often don't like it when people leave, and if Nick leaves he'll be a case in point. I've long admired Nick and his work and have been told by someone who knows him that he's a great guy. But, not liking it and being able to do something about it are two different things. If someone doesn't want to be here, then "sayonara" .
