2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Yes, assuming you have him on ignore? I enjoy the comedy.
i didnt until today. i need a break from his kaka. its always the same old BS with him. he only has something to say when a local team loses. its always negative 100 percent of the time.

Sundqvist is having a hearing today from the NHL on the Grzelcyk hit. Grzelczyk is in concussion protocol and won't travel to STL for games 3 and 4. I think Sundqvist should get two games for the hit to at least match the injury incurred.

Watching the game on NBC, EdZo's commentary sorta made me chuckle when you contrasted the discussion.

1. Gryzlcyk is up against boards awkwardly. Was he attempting to deke or did the puck hop on him and he lost his balance? EdZo claims "he put himself in the in a susceptible position by changing his level" which clearly is meant to to lessen the culpability of Sundqvist, who is at the goal line when Gryz "stumbles".

2. Nordstrom lights up Blais with a clean shoulder to shoulder hit later in the game. EdZo goes immediately for the "head shot" commentary only to have replay show the head wasn't even contacted and even Regis goes on about "Nordstrom's smart hockey play".

The SportsNet guys in Canada had exactly the opposite impression of the Gryzlcyk hit.

EDIT TO ADD - Nordstrom's hit that was a "head shot" according to EdZo.

I can't find anything on Sundqvist for a suspension history because everything comes up either for this hit or the one he received when Tom Wilson of the Caps was suspended for 20 games for his 4th infraction. I think what he gets, if anything, will depend a lot on that history.

I'm not even really arguing for a suspension. This game happens at crazy speed and Gryz toe picking/dekeing/stumbling changed the target; I think it is fair to say that if he doesn't, Sundquist hits him in the left shoulder on a clean hard hit. However his neck/head are now where his shoulder "was supposed" to be.

Give him the Joe Thornton/Charlie McAvoy game and call it a day if you must.

I'm just more in awe of the commentary. People listen to EdZo for "expertise color commentary" and the guy couldn't have been more wrong in his initial read....but like everything, only the initial impression is kept.

I mean go to the main board over at HF and read the discussion on this; the Blues fans are out of their tits if they think these two hits are even remotely the same (and I say that as someone who thinks Sundquist had no intent; although its clear the players still havent learned the "player in a bad spot, don't light em up" ideal)

Steelers, Snoop Dogg Hope Addition Thru Subtraction Is a Hit, but It's Unlikely

Snoop Dogg thinks the Steelers are better off without Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell.
Now there's an intro sentence I never imagined I would type.
"I don't remember us winning anything with AB and Le'Veon because we would always get to that point and one of them would be missing," the longtime Steelers fan, game show host, entrepreneur and (when he can squeeze it in) rapper said on FS1's Undisputed last week. "One of them would be missing in action due to injury, infraction or something would always have us walking with one foot. …

I tend to agree.

I'm on the fence re: suspension. I don't think he was targeting the head in a premeditated way but he did hit it. All depends how stickler Shanny wants to be here preventing head shots.

One thing I do know.....this series is gonna continue to be VERY physical.

I think it's similar to the McAvoy hit and with no prior history I can find I think he will get
"the don't do it again" game.

I would agree. That seems to be the precedent that they have set.

The truth hurts sometimes, ladies, but don't blame the messenger...grow a pair instead.

Ed Oldchuck is a decades-long Boston hater. His opinion means less than nothing to me.

However, if Grizzle had been even a regular-sized NHL defenceman, that hit would not have been even close to as devastating as it was.

As for your comment about championship appearances, or top-2 finishes not mattering in your book, they are very important in record books.
Sorry this is the Patriots forum. The Bills forum can be found elsewhere.

Similar in the hits results but with the sunquist hit gryzlak losing his balance before impact played a role in the outcome. That could’ve very well been a 2 minute boarding call for a hard check.

THE STEELERS ARE ROUGHLY AN AVERAGE BIG 4 AMERICAN SPORTS FRANCHISE, CONSIDERING THEY STARTED IN 1933. THEIR IMPACT ON THE NATIONAL SPORTS LANDSCAPE IS SO SPARSE AND OVERRATED BY THEIR DELUSIONAL FANS. THEY ARE NOWHERE NEAR A FREAKIN' DYNASTIC TEAM.
TYPING IN BOLD CAPITALS DOES NOTHING TO MAKE YOU SEEM SMARTER. IF ANYTHING, IT HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT.

That unpleasantness aside, the Steelers of the 70's were an NFL dynasty. I don't know what a "dynastic team" is, but the Steelers had one in the 70's. I may hate them, but I give credit where it is due. The 49ers were a dynasty in the 80's, and even the Cowboys had a dynasty in the 90's. NE has the 00's and the 10's.

Please stop embarrassing Patriots fans with your ridiculous take on this.

And like that, he wins his 1,000,000th consecutive argument and gets the last word in...despite a rebuttal that is...not even sure what that is.

Congrats. Go to the Orchids thread and face Andy now.

Pretty much sums up my viewpoint. In game I felt from an officials message sending standpoint it should have either been 5 or a double minor. I don't think it was suspension worthy but the league has made it clear from previous suspensions this year that the bar is low on head shots

What part of my post do you not understand? I’ll be happy to type slower....

The Steelers were the NFL dynasty of the 70’s. That isn’t even an opinion, that’s a fact. I’m glad their day is over, but it cannot be denied they had a dynasty back then.

Since you seem so obsessed with having the last word, I’ll let you have it. I’m just asking you to please stop making Patriots fans look foolish by denying the fact that other teams had dynasties before ours began.
